Yellow Box

Yellow Box or Eucalyptus meliodora is a medium sized gum whose inner bark is yellowish in color. It is widely distributed West of the dividing range in NSW, VIC and QLD. It likes hot summers and cold winters and when in bloom is very finicky and can drop its flower buds if the conditions are slightly irregular. Which makes it difficult to predict a honey flow from it. It can be a major honey producer in the right conditions with excellent quality honey and high yields. The honey is one of the best raw seasonal honeys with a characteristic aroma and flavor.
