What the difference between Raw Honey & Processed Honey?

Raw Bee honey is only strained before it’s bottled, which means it retains most of the beneficial nutrients and antioxidants that it naturally contains. Conversely, regular honey may undergo a variety of processing, which may remove beneficial nutrients like pollen and reduce its level of antioxidants

How long does honey keep for?

Honey stored in sealed containers can remain stable for decades and even centuries! However, honey is susceptible to physical and chemical changes during storage; it tends to darken and lose its aroma and flavour and will often crystallize.

These are temperature-dependent processes, making the shelf life of honey difficult to define. For practical purposes, a shelf life of two years is often stated. So the idea is to eat, enjoy and then get a new jar of honey!

Why does Raw Honey have different lavours?

Yes raw Bees Honey is seasonal and as different forests flower at different times the flavours change from season to season depending on what’s flowering an dhow much they are flowering. So now winter in my area the Ironbark Gums are flowering and this makes for a stronger darker honey. Soon Come spring many different trees will flower which brings a lighter colour tasting like fudge.

Each season brings its own unique flavours and different tasting honey’s.

Where does Beeswax come from?

The Beeswax comes from the glands of worker bees who convert the sugar contents of honey into wax, this oozes through the bee’s small pores to produce tiny flakes of wax on their abdomens. Other Workers chew these pieces of wax until they become soft and pliable and then use the chewed wax in the honeycomb construction.
